THE TEAM
It is with the invaluable work of my amazing team that we are able to provide you with great content. Here's a quick look at some of the people who make this all possible!
KIM ROSS
Kim has known of the Paleo/Primal lifestyle for around 4 years now, and it was not until a little over 2 ago years that she truly began learning and understanding the science behind it and slowly slipping into it. Thanks to Mike, who she met through Long Island MMA, she finally felt like she had the knowledge she needed to start her journey! Fast forwarding to now she has really embraced the lifestyle [most of the time ;)] and has enjoyed the benefits of feeling and being healthier!
Kim enjoys being able to share her ideas and recipes with others in hopes to encourage those who have toyed with the idea of the “caveman” life style to jump in! She always thought the lifestyle would be expensive or time consuming; however, she has found that with proper planning, she has saved both money and time! As one of the primary administrators, Kim plays a vital role in both finding content and helping answer your questions.
CHRISSY YANDOLLI
Chrissy first came to the Paleo/Primal lifestyle almost 2 years ago, while preparing for her amateur mixed martial arts debut. After 12 years as an amateur kickboxer, she always found it difficult to lose weight in a healthy way, while keeping up energy for training. After several discussions with Mike and Kim, she finally took the plunge. For the first time, she felt energetic and not deprived of food while putting her body through a rigorous training schedule. After she won, she chose to continue her Paleo journey and has really embraced all of the health benefits that it has to offer! Like Kim, she is vital in helping find content and is truly looking forward to inspiring other people through Paleo/Primal Long Island!!
MARY ALLEN
Mary Caite just started her Paleo/Primal life after troubles with getting the right macro- and micronutrients in her diet. When she was born she was diagnosed with a metabolic disorder known as Phenylketonuria (PKU), whereby her body lacks the ability to process Phenylalanine an amino acid found in all protein. For 19 years Mary Caite couldn't have meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, grains, legumes, nuts or seeds and received most of her nutrients from an amino acid meal replacement shake.
When she was 19, she enrolled in a clinical trial for BioMarin's study drug PEGPAL where her enzyme Phenylalanine Hydroxylase was replaced with bacterial produced Phenylalanine Ammonia Lyase. This allowed her liberate her diet [but not always in the best ways ;)]. After meeting Mike, she began to regain balance in her diet.
Mary Caite has just graduated with her Associates in Dietetic Technology and is studying at Queens College for her Bachelor's in Nutrition to become a Registered Dietitian and eventually work on a Master's in Genetic Counseling to help others with metabolic disorders and difficult dieting. As another future health care professional. she is an invaluable resource, who brings passion and a unique perspective to helping you guys out!
